Corrections Policy

We make mistakes. When we do, we fix them quickly and transparently.

Minor corrections (a misspelled name, a wrong date) are corrected inline with a brief note at the bottom of the article: "Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated X. The article has been updated." We do not delete the original error quietly.

Substantial corrections (a factual error that changes a story's meaning) are published as a standalone correction at the top of the original article and, if warranted, in a follow-up piece.

To request a correction, email corrections@roanokecitysalt.com. Include the article link, the error, and the correct information. We will respond within 48 hours.
